Vignette Combo is one of the first plugins I worked on. I needed a more flexible and versatile vignette than the one shipping with FCP. Obviously I was making my own vignettes with Photoshop but I thought I could get together a script for a faster, more efficient and multipurpose vignette.

Vignette Combo allows you to modify shape, size, softness, colour and much more (see images and demo below). As well as being conventionally used as a vignette this filter can turn useful in many other circumstances including reshaping lighting, modify colour temperature, select/highlight specific areas or items within the clip or simply add a different mood to a given scene.

To install the plug-in:

After downloading the plug-in drag it to Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Final Cut Pro System Support / Plugins folder. Finally restart Final Cut Pro and the effect should show up in the effects menu.
