New Features

Light Kit 2.0 includes 7 new plugins (double the number of effects offered by Light Kit 1.0); Blinks, Color Bands, Color Boost, Night-Time, Retro Color Shader, Stylized Lume and Temperature as well as the 9 original plugins (7 effects and 2 transitions) most of which reproduce a specific type of light effect such as flickering, regional, burn and flashing light. However, some other plugins like Color Bands, Retro Color Shader, Color Boost, Multicolor Gradient, Multicolor Vignette, Vivid Touch and Stylizer offer new ways of stylizing images, color and ambient light. These allow the user to achieve sophisticated and visually appealing effects for many type of productions including music videos, commercials, feature and short films, documentaries and indi movies.
Besides the addition of twice the number of effects Light Kit 2.0 brings a completely new experience for FCPX users with an updated UI (Presets, Parameter grouping etc.). Take a look at the samples below!

Light Flicker

If you are looking for a filter that can simulate a nice TV ambient or maybe an old projector flickering light then here is a plugin that will certainly help you with that. Coming with a generous number of customizable controls and presets, this is a plugin that can be used in a variety of projects. Suitable for recreating disco-like strobe lights too.

Light Pulse

This plugin provides you with a fast and easy way of creating automated pulsing lights of any speed, color and style. Effects like “Red light Alarm” or constantly shifting ambient lights, (i.e.signs) require only a couple of seconds to choose from the presets. You can then customize the effect as you wish.

Multicolor Gradient

This unique plugin allows the user to overlay a great variety of color gradients of modifiable tonality, size and intensity over the images. It is a highly customizable plugin with plenty of controls to create unique effects where colorful and even animatible shades, patterns and light effects are needed.

Multicolor Vignette

Multicolor Vignette provides the user with something rather unusual that a normal vignette cannot reproduce, which is the ability to apply a smooth, multicolored vignette onto the image in one go. This creates multiple, modifiable, color gradients around or over the images. Like Multicolor Gradient this plugin can help in adding a gentle color touch while grading.

Regional Light

This is a stylish plugin that can re-create localised light effects, with or without flicker. If you have underexposed, dull images that need to be brightened, they can be improved with Regional Light. It can also be used to add slick spot, ambient lights and localised colored lights. You can even recreate light and shadow effects like light leaking through gaps or venetian blinds. This is a very useful plugin to add to your effects collection. Click here for a short demo.

Stylizer

The name says it all! This is a cool plugin to stylize a video by affecting potentially every aspect of the images (light, color, shape etc). A number of presets offer some really handy ideas and suggestions on what type of stylization can be achieved. From abstract image manipulation to surreal looks there is a lot that you can do. You can even create from scratch your very own final look and save it as a preset.

Vivid Touch

A plugin that can be used to sharply enhance both light and colors of the images. Vivid Touch plugin crucially helps users who wish to combine contrasting effects like glow and sharpness to achieve either more vivid images or dream-like atmospherics. The variety of presets offers a good range of possibilities.

Burn Wipe

Creating dynamic light and burnout wipe transitions of any intensity, thickness and color. The wipe can be vertical, horoizontal or of any rotation degree desired and unlike any other wipe plugin the movement and rotation of the effect can be randomized to achieve unusual dramatic results. Another must have!

Flash

A transition that creates various intermittent flash / lightning transition effects inbetween clips. Effective when a dramatic and/or sudden change needs to be highlighted. Flash can also produce a single quick flash (see presets).
